Within only 5 weeks, the largest toy producer, Mattel, has issued its third toy recall due to chemical tainting or excessive lead in paint from Chinese manufacturing facilities.

Although goods in the Far East can be produced very cheaply, it is becoming more apparent that the ecological, safety and quality issues associated with this manufacturing is being ignored - to the peril of workers and consumers alike. This is leading consumers to shop around and look for quality products from producers with high standards.
